Blender Jumpstart! Part 1 – Overview
August 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm | $20
*This summer, I’d rather be Blending!* There are many CAD tools out there such as Fusion, Solidworks, and Inventor, as well as mesh sculpting tools like Z-brush and Rhino 3D. Not to mention CGI, gaming asset creation, 3D printing, animation and rendering software such as Cinema4D, Maya, and Keyshot. Good grief, so many tools! Your instructor for this course has a couple of years of full-time experience in this meshy world, and has found himself utterly captivated by Blender for a solid year. Blender is the open source Swiss Army Knife for all these categories. It has a steep learning curve and can take years to master, but once you get the basics down, it is so much fun and can definitely light your imagination on fire. Blender is a favorite for artists and business professionals alike. It is now my Go-To: I would much rather use Blender than Fusion at this point, although it does not yet work at all for some tasks so I recommend that makers learn both. This course – Blender Jumpstart! – is intended to help give n00bs an overview and a rapid immersion into Blender. It will feature broad discussion of features and encourage hands-on learning and workshopping. There are lots of fantastic videos on YouTube – this class is only meant as a supplement to individual study, not as stand-alone instruction. Come with a project in mind and let’s get you blending!!
NOTE: This is a 4-part series class. This sign up is ONLY for session 1 on August 9th. Please sign up for additional sessions using the corresponding event page. Beginners are encouraged to attend all four sessions as they will sequentially build skills on each other, but are not required to do so. 16 years of age and over.
Andrew first learned about 3D printing and CAD at the Idea Fab Lab before the pandemic began, and has been sucked into the metaverse of meshes ever since. It’s addictive! But a relatively healthy creative addiction. Anything you can imagine is possible when you are inside the world of blender – please join me!!
