Vintage Poster Workshop

Do you remember the old hand painted grocery store signs you use to see in the supermarket? We’ll be covering brush strokes, paint consistency and layout for that bold and vintage style. Come hang out and create something cool and nostalgic to bring home with you. We’ll be keeping it fun and accessible to everyone.
Class Description:
You will begin with the basic layout you’ll need for your chosen subject matter. Next, we will go over the colors and composition to make your posters pop. We’ll finish up with brush stroke techniques and how to load a brush properly. Starting with background painting you will then be guided through the painting process.
What to Bring:
Clothes you don’t mind getting paint on and your creative ideas.

Prerequisites:
Beginners are welcome, no previous experience necessary.
Instructor Bio:
For the last three years, Thomas Bradley has been studying traditional sign art and running his sign painting business. Prior to that he has taken courses in watercolor, acrylic and oil fine art painting. He studied Photography at the San Francisco Art Intstitute located on Chestnut Street.
